Skyrim – the gaming monkey on my back

Posted by admin on June 26th, 2012

I’ve just stepped away from my desk to pick up the box for this game so I could recall the full title:

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

This is a brilliant game and to be honest I’ve spent way too much time playing it – hence the ‘monkey on my back’.  I started playing this at the beginning of February (according to the first achievement I got) and have really not played any other game in that time.  That’s actually pretty worrying.  I couldn’t get into it to start with there was just too much to do but once you settle in to it the game is fantastic throughout.

I wanted to try and get through all the Achievements for this game to help me feel I had in some way finished it and the other day I finally achieved the ‘Master’ achievement.

Phew – brow was wiped, dungeon was finished and that I thought was that.  Time to move on to something else I’ve not played (Crysis 2 as it happens).

But no I’m not allowed, launching today is the first Skyrim DLC, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Dawnguard.

Now I’m torn do I buy the DLC and get back to more Skyrim or do I move on and get the Skyrim gaming monkey off my back for all time.
